God is not the distant magician of our childish imagining, but one who works within the very limits and freedoms that can make or break a marriage, a family, a people or a person. He loves the loveless, and values the otherwise worthless – enough to let the ransom of them cost Him everything, but equally he will never settle to be the ‘bridegrooom for a day or two.' He will settle for nothing less than love, nothing shorter than ‘for ever’ so, (14:2-3) “take with you words, and turn to the Lord.
